We receive our billing information from the facility where you were seen for your radiology procedure. Most information transfers to us electronically, but there are times we do not receive everything—or receive outdated information. We encourage to carefully monitor information from your insurance company (and our billing office) to make sure correct claims were submitted. In the event you detect an error, please contact our office and we will work with you to properly re-file the claim.
Most of the exams interpreted by our doctors are taken at Medical City Dallas Hospital. However, you may also have had an x-ray study done at a freestanding imaging center or doctor’s office.
You may not have met one of our radiologists face to face, but one of our specially-trained and Board Certified radiologists interpreted your x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI or other radiology study. He or she then dictates a radiology report, which is sent to your physician (who originally ordered the study).
We accept credit card payments, including payments on line, and are also willing to discuss setting up a payment plan for you.
We bill your insurance, accept credit card payments and attempt to communicate with you several times before your account becomes delinquent. If you do not respond or work with us to set up payment arrangements, your account will be sent to a collection agency.
Your insurance company directory is the best resource to tell you if we are a participating provider on your plan. We participate with Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, United Healthcare, CIGNA, Aetna and numerous other larger insurance companies.
When you registered at the hospital, one of the forms you signed stated you would receive a separate professional charge for an x-ray. Under medical billing guidelines, doctors must bill for their own work, separate from the hospital charges.
We file all insurance claims according to strict medical billing guidelines and do not automatically re-file merely when no activity occurs. There are several reasons why your claim may have been denied and we will work with you to provide any additional information requested by your insurance company. However, since you bear the final responsibility for payment, we encourage you to contact your insurance company and be actively involved checking on the status of your claim, providing information when requested and/or asking for reconsideration if your claim is initially denied for payment.
We do not accept letters of protection.
