A radiologist is a physician who specializes in image acquisition and interpretation. Their ability to recognize normal and diseased anatomy, using various imaging tools, is an extension of the history and physical, and is one of the important tools used in patient diagnosis.
After college and medical school, those doctors specializing in radiology spend an additional 4-5 years in a residency program. Many radiologists spend an additional 1-3 years in subspecialty fellowship programs, before entering full-time practice.
All RCND physicians are board-certified and subspecialty fellowship trained. As computer imaging technology and medicine evolve, so too must a radiologist. By continual training in the latest techniques and radiology applications, the members of RCND stay current on all the latest diagnostic tools. You can view specific physician biographies in The Doctors.
